How payments work (managed payments)
Bazarla operates managed payments as the merchant of record. When a buyer wins an auction or buys a fixed-price item, the buyer pays through Bazarla's payment provider and Bazarla collects the payment. Bazarla deducts its Final Value Fee and pays the balance to the seller once the sale completes.
Authorisation and capture
Cards are not authorised while an auction is running — only the winning buyer is charged, at close (or at purchase, for fixed-price items). On a completed sale the buyer's card is authorised; the payment is captured when the handover is confirmed. If a sale is cancelled before capture the authorisation is released; if after capture, the buyer is refunded.
Holding and payout to sellers
- Bazarla holds the sale proceeds (less the fee) until the buyer confirms the in-person handover — by two-sided confirmation and/or a one-time handover code.
- On confirmation, the seller is paid the net amount, normally within 2–5 business days.
- Maximum hold: 14 days. If a handover is not confirmed within 14 days of the sale, the transaction is cancelled and the buyer refunded, unless a dispute is open.
Seller fees and payout method
- By selling on Bazarla, you agree to the 6% Final Value Fee on your completed sales, deducted from proceeds before payout.
- To receive payouts, you add a payout method; identity/KYC verification may be required before we release funds.
- Card details are handled by our payment provider's secure form. Bazarla does not see or store full card details — only a token from the provider.
Refunds and chargebacks
Sellers are responsible for refunds and chargebacks arising from their sale (for example, an item not received or not as described), except where caused solely by Bazarla's error. You authorise Bazarla to fund such amounts from proceeds it holds for you, from your reserve, or to recover them from you. Card chargebacks may be raised up to 6 months after a transaction. See Returns & Refunds.
Holds and reserve
Bazarla may withhold or hold a reserve from a balance where reasonably necessary to cover anticipated refunds, chargebacks or claims, and releases it once the risk has passed. Bazarla's own guarantee to its acquiring bank (including any rolling reserve) is funded by Bazarla from its own fees and does not reduce the proceeds payable to sellers.
Currency
Amounts on Bazarla are in Mauritian rupees (Rs / MUR).
No fee circumvention
You agree not to use Bazarla to avoid Bazarla's fees. In particular, you must not:
- exchange phone numbers, emails, or links in messages, or otherwise arrange to complete a sale off Bazarla, in order to avoid the Final Value Fee;
- list an item, agree a deal with a buyer, and then cancel or relist it to settle privately;
- encourage a buyer or seller to transact outside Bazarla to dodge fees.
To protect everyone, messages are monitored for shared contact details and off-platform solicitation; contact details may be automatically masked. Breaching this term may lead to warnings, listing removal, charging of fees that were avoided, suspension, or account termination. Buyer and seller protections apply only to transactions completed on Bazarla.
