Returns & Refunds

Last updated: 3 July 2026

During the beta, Bazarla processes no payments. Buyers and sellers arrange collection directly. This page describes how returns and refunds work once payments go live.

Sort it out with the other party first

If something's wrong with an item — not as described, not handed over, or you and the seller disagree — contact the other party through Bazarla messages and try to resolve it. Most issues are sorted this way.

How refunds work

Because Bazarla holds the payment until the buyer confirms the in-person handover, most issues are covered before any money reaches the seller:

  • If a handover isn't confirmed, or the sale is cancelled, the buyer is refunded and no fee is charged.
  • If an item is not as described or faulty, you may be eligible for a refund under this policy and Mauritian consumer law; raise it promptly through messages or by contacting us.
  • When a completed sale is reversed, the 6% Final Value Fee on it is refunded too.

Sellers are responsible for refunds and chargebacks arising from their sale; see the Payment Terms.

What Bazarla can do

We can act on listings and accounts that breach our Terms (for example removing a listing or suspending an account), and we operate a dispute process for paid sales. You can report a listing or a user from its page.
