Prohibited & Restricted Items

Last updated: 8 July 2026

To keep Bazarla safe and lawful, some things may never be listed, and others only under conditions. You are responsible for ensuring what you sell complies with the laws of Mauritius. This list is a guide, not exhaustive — if in doubt, don't list it.

Prohibited — never allowed

  • Anything illegal to own, sell, or transfer under Mauritian law.
  • Stolen property, or items with a removed/altered serial number.
  • Counterfeit, replica, or unauthorised copies of branded goods, media, or software.
  • Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives, and their parts.
  • Illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and prescription-only medicines.
  • Hazardous, toxic, or recalled materials.
  • Protected wildlife and products from endangered species (e.g. ivory), and human remains or body parts.
  • Government documents, IDs, uniforms, and official items.
  • Stolen account credentials, personal data, or hacking tools.
  • Adult sexual content and services.
  • Items that infringe someone else's intellectual property (see our IP policy).
  • Alcohol and tobacco products.
  • Live animals and pets.
  • Medical devices, dietary supplements, and other health or medical products.

Restricted — only with conditions

  • Vehicles: you must hold the registration papers and the legal right to sell; you confirm this when you list.
  • Food & cosmetics: must be safe, properly labelled, and within use-by/expiry dates.
  • Electronics & media: genuine items only; no pirated or region-locked circumvention.

What happens if a listing breaks these rules

We may remove the listing and, for repeated or serious breaches, suspend or close the account (see the Terms). You can report a listing you believe breaks these rules from its page.
